Back in 2015, I had the opportunity to work on a lifestyle photography project that still stands out as one of my favorites – documenting the world of renowned French interior designer Tristan Auer in Paris. The shoot was commissioned by Wilson Associates, a Dallas-based design firm, as part of a branding campaign spotlighting creatives across the globe. My role was to capture Tristan not just as a designer, but as a person – at home, at ease, and in the city that inspires him.
We began the day at his house in Montmartre, a warm, curated space that quietly echoed the same attention to detail seen in his interiors. There was nothing staged about it – just natural light, textured surfaces, and a sense of place. From there, we wandered the streets of Paris in his vintage Aston Martin letting the shoot unfold naturally – part editorial, part lived experience. Those moments – casual, unguarded – were what made the project feel more like visual storytelling than a formal photo session.
Even a decade later, this project reminds me why I love lifestyle and editorial photography: it’s about translating the essence of someone’s world into images that feel honest and alive. Whether I’m working with designers, architects, or creative brands here in Dallas or beyond, the goal is always the same—photographs that build connection and say something real. If you’re looking for a lifestyle photographer who understands how to document design with personality and depth, I’d be glad to talk.
